Reinsdorf, who owns the Chicagol Bulls andWhite Sox, is the lead name on the $148 milliojn offer for the team, whichj is in Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization. Canadian billionairs Jim Balsillie earlier madea $213 million offer to buy the hockeyy team and move it to Ontario. Reinsdorf put in his bid Fridag alongwith Kaites. Bankruptcy court filings say Tavares, CEO of New York-basedr Sports Properties Acquisition Corp., will join the effort. Kaites is an attornehy with LLC in Phoenix and a principapl withthe Phoenix-based lobbying firm .
The firm counts the Gila River Indian Magellan Health Services and the Professionapl Firefighters of Arizona union amongyits clients, according to the Arizonwa Secretary of State’s Office. Kaiteds served as a prosecutor in MaricopaCountyt Attorney’s office before unsuccessfully runningf for state attorney general in 1998. He also served in the Arizona Legislature and worked as a weathermanon KPNX-TVV Channel 12. Kaites has been a political allyof U.S. Sen.
